Set in the beautiful Western Solent, right near The Needles, this three-day regatta is the ultimate mix of competitive inshore racing and champagne! Sponsored by Taittinger Champagne and hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club from Yarmouth, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss.
Your weekend with Classicsail starts off at our base at Chichester with breakfast and a morning sail in the harbour, followed by a dash across the eastern Solent to Seaview yacht club for lunch, then a doglegged afternoon Sail/race taking in Portsmouth, Ryde and Osborne Bay, arriving in early evening for a club supper and a night out in Cowes.
The Round The Island yacht race is one of the UK’s premier yacht races. Classic Sail will be entering 3 yachts for this event and whilst racing in class, we will also be Classic match racing against each other with our own prize giving event organised.
Round the Island Race is a fantastic event that sees world-renowned sailors competing against families, Sailing schools and first-time racers. Around 1400 yachts take part, making it one of the largest races in the world!
The Panerai British Classic Week regatta is a direct result of probably the most prestigious regatta ever held in modern times; The America’s cup Jubilee in 2001 at Cowes, where over 200 of the world’s finest yachts gathered to celebrate 200 years of the America’s cup.
Cowes week is the UK’s premier Yachting event and firmly seated in the British social Summer Season since 1826. Sail in style at this prestigious event with Classicsail.
Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for around 1,000 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.
At the end of August Classicsail’s focus points south with an adventure voyage from the Solent to Galicia, offering a weeks matched race yachting, giving a true offshore experience and an opportunity to build sea miles.
